At Shining Mountain Elementary School, our mission is to equip learners of all abilities, styles, and aspirations with the necessary skills for success in today's diverse and competitive world. Our dedicated staff collaborates to deliver innovative instruction using research-based strategies. We believe in working closely with families and the community to create an environment that promotes academic excellence. At Shining Mountain, we are committed to fostering a high level of student achievement and preparing students for lifelong success.

Utilize data results to respond to student needs, refine our teaching practices, and build collective knowledge.

Shining Mountain Goals:

Academic Goal:  By Spring 2025, students reading foundational skills will increase from 77% to 87% based on STAR CBM given bi-weekly for progress monitoring and 3 times a year for Benchmark testing.

Attendance Goal:  By Spring 2025, student attendance will increase from 90% to 92%, based on Synergy Daily Attendance Reports.

Social Emotional Goal:  By Spring 2025, grades 3 - 5 will increase their ability to pull themselves out of a bad mood (emotional regulations) by 3% (from 38% to 41%).

Behavior Goal:  By Spring 2025, Shining Mountain Elementary will decrease major behaviors in the area of disruptive behaviors by 10% (from 346 to 312).
