Next year, both our Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) Levy and our Technology Capital Levy expire. These levies are on a four year cycle and are critical funding for our district.
Thank you, voters! Construction on the New Bethel High School reached a significant milestone in March as the last piece of structural steel was put in place. That’s 1,650 TONS of steel, if you’re keeping score at home. This bond-funded project broke ground over a year ago and is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
There’s a month left in the Washington State Legislature’s 2025 session, and school funding continues to be a hot topic. While members of our district’s senior leadership team are advocating for changes, until the state fully funds public education, local bonds and levies will remain a necessity. That’s one reason the School Board continued their conversation about our bonds and levies at this week’s Study Session.
